North Macedonian grades and a US GPA

This page gives no US equivalents for North Macedonian grades: we found no table for them on Wikipedia or from an official source, and we do not make one up. A US university reads a foreign transcript itself or through the credential evaluation service it names, and its conversion is the one that counts.

Send your grades as they are, with the scale above. When a form asks for your average, give it on your own scale and say which scale it is: the converter’s average does exactly that, weighted by credits when you enter them.

What to know about grades in North Macedonia

  • University grades are usually not given word labels: a course is simply passed with 6 to 10 or failed with 5.
  • A failing 5 is almost never entered in a student's record book, so transcripts normally list only passing grades.
  • Each university grade stands for a band of points out of 100: 51 to 60 points gives a 6, and every further 10 points raises the grade by one, up to 10 for 91 to 100.
