A test grade: questions right out of questions asked
For a stack of equally weighted tests
The easy grader turns questions wrong or correct into a percentage. Half points are supported. Save each paper to build the class average and the spread of letters, then download the session or send it to the curve tool.
Print the complete chart for that question count or download it. Every count from 1 to 100 also has a printable chart of its own, such as the grading scale for 20 questions; the grading scale page lists them all. When questions have different values, use total earned and possible points instead.
For an instructor's chosen curve
The grade curve calculator compares six curves: flat points, two ways to bring the top score to 100, square root, a target mean and a bell curve. You can see the effect on every score before exporting the table.
A curve changes scores; changing grade cutoffs changes which letter a score receives. Neither tool decides the class policy for you.
A formula sheet for the class
The grade and GPA formula sheet shows how a score, a weighted grade, a final-exam target and a curve are worked out, each with one example. It prints on one page for a handout or the classroom wall.
Put a calculator on your class page
To give students the easy grader or the class grade calculator on your own class site, copy the embed code into Google Sites, Canvas or any page that takes HTML. A link to the full page comes with it.
