In Angola, university grades run from 20 (best) to 0, and 10 is the lowest pass.

Angolan grades and a US GPA
This page gives no US equivalents for Angolan grades: we found no table for them on Wikipedia or from an official source, and we do not make one up. A US university reads a foreign transcript itself or through the credential evaluation service it names, and its conversion is the one that counts.
Send your grades as they are, with the scale above. When a form asks for your average, give it on your own scale and say which scale it is: the converter’s average does exactly that, weighted by credits when you enter them.
What to know about grades in Angola
- Marks can carry tenths, but final course grades are rounded to whole numbers, so 9.5 becomes 10, a pass, while 9.4 stays a fail.
- The final degree grade is the course average on the same scale; at UCAN 10–13 is suficiente, 14–15 bom, 16 bom com louvor, 17–18 bom com distinção and 19–20 bom com louvor e distinção.
- Other universities, such as the Universidade Privada de Angola, also mark 0 to 20 with 10 as the pass but draw the word bands differently, for example muito bom for 17 to 19 and excelente only for 20.
