Put a grade calculator on your class page

Pick a calculator, copy its code and paste it into your class website, Google Sites page or course page. Your students use the calculator right there. Everything they type is worked out in their own browser: no sign-in, no ads, and their scores are not sent to you or to us.

The link under the calculator stays with it, so students can open the full page.

Where to paste it

In Google Sites, choose Insert, then Embed, then Embed code. In Canvas, open the page’s HTML editor and paste the code where the calculator should go. Most other class sites have an HTML or embed block that takes it the same way.

If your site strips frames out, share the plain link instead: the second line of the code works on its own.

What your students see

The calculator opens with a worked example they can type over, exactly as on its own page, and a link to that page for the full explanation. With your categories, the class grade calculator opens with them and their weights instead, and blank scores for students to fill in. With your setup, the easy grader opens on your question count and letter scale, and the college GPA calculator on your college’s grade points. The frame is 760 px wide at most. The computer code makes it as tall as the calculator at that width; on a narrower page or a phone the calculator stacks into one column and scrolls inside the frame. The phone code makes the frame tall enough for that one column, so nothing scrolls inside it on a phone.

For a handout instead of a screen, print the grade and GPA formula sheet or the easy grader’s chart.
