Ukrainian grading system
In Ukraine, university courses are scored out of 100 points, and 60 is the lowest pass at most universities. School grades: 1 to 12, lowest pass 4.
Example · Credit-weighted average of 3 courses
добре (good)
A pass: 82–89 of the marks. 60 is the lowest pass.
3 courses, 15 credits. Your institution’s own rules on rounding or cutting off decimals decide the grade on your record.

Ukrainian grades and a US GPA
This page gives no US equivalents for Ukrainian grades: we found no table for them on Wikipedia or from an official source, and we do not make one up. A US university reads a foreign transcript itself or through the credential evaluation service it names, and its conversion is the one that counts.
Send your grades as they are, with the scale above. When a form asks for your average, give it on your own scale and say which scale it is: the converter’s average does exactly that, weighted by credits when you enter them.
What to know about grades in Ukraine
- Universities also report results on the national scale of відмінно (excellent), добре (good), задовільно (satisfactory) and незадовільно (unsatisfactory), and some courses are only зараховано (passed) or не зараховано (not passed).
- The grading scale a university used is printed in the diploma supplement.
- A full-time university year is usually 60 ECTS credits, and a bachelor's degree takes 180 to 240.
- Schools have used the 12-point scale since 2000; against the old 5-point scale, ENIC Ukraine equates a 12 with a 5+, a 7 with a 4− and a 4 with a 3−.
- Pupils in years 1 and 2 get verbal assessment only, and in years 3 and 4 schools choose between verbal assessment and the four levels.
